What is rubber mulch made of, and how safe is it for people and the environment?
 

1. What is it made of? Everlast Rubber Mulch is made of 100% recycled tires.  Around 33 tires are absorbed, per cubic yard, during production.  By recycling tires, we are able to reduce the space consumed by used tires in landfields. Used tires are collected, ground, and screened into sizes ranging from 1" and down. The ground tire is dyed a specific color and bagged. That is it.

2. How is it safe for people and the environment? The actual rubber and dye, used to produce the mulch, is 100% non-toxic and safe for people, pets, and plants. Everlast Rubber Mulch is 98% steel-free. If any steel is present within the mulch, it will oxidize and rust out within the first six months.
